The IDC brought the Hawk system to supplement it's versatile but basic Viper scout. The Hawk is highly sophisticated belying it's simple lines. When mobile, the Hawk can function as a light tank using it's light Electro-magnetic accelerating cannon to engage lightly armoured units.

However, the system deploys to be a highly stealthy multi-sensor surveillance post. When deployed, the turret is fixed (and thus cannot fire, leaving the unit defenceless) and a tall mast extends from the rear of the hull. Atop the mast is a powerful passive multi-wave scanner which can view units at great ranges. To help conceal the Hawk when it is deployed, it employs 'chameleon' camouflage which exactly matches it's surroundings. As well as this, it is radar stealthy and it's outer surfaces rapidly cools down, again to exactly match it's surroundings.

This unit is extremely complex to implement. It will deploy and test 'stealth' INI code. The idea of texture mapping the unit in exactly the terrain tile is a programming challenge.
