The
IFV-1 is the Kamarthian State Arsenal's latest armoured
personnel carrier. It borrows conceptually from both the
IDC's armoured speeders and the more traditional heavily
armed IKA assault transports. The IFV-1 is noted for it's
balanced armament, having both a general-purpose gun and
surface-to-air missiles. However, whilst balanced, it's
weapon's firepower is somewhat lacking. The turret is
armoured to assault tank standards in the frontal aspect
but only lightly defended from the sides/rear -a
compromise to save weight.
An unarmed version can carry 8 persons (2 more).The
SAMs have a low altitude limit, poor range and slow
reaction/rate-of-fire. This makes them inadequate for
general air-defence although they are of course useful
force multipliers.
