The Monitor is
widely deployed by the IKA, both in frontline regiments
and reserve squadrons. It is primarily tasked with direct
fire support in infantry assaults but is also valuable as
a general-purpose light tank. It has been mass-produced
leading to low costs but poor build quality.
It's twin 80mm low-velocity cannon have a reasonable rate
of fire and good firepower. They can fire several
specialised rounds including anti-armour, smoke and
sensor rocket. The latter is particularly useful for
penetrating smoke screens and in a reconnaissance role,
although this type of ammo is limited to 4rds per tank.
Like much IKA equipment, the baseline model is quite
low-tech in order to allow conscripts to use and maintain
it with minimal training. This also makes it very combat
durable.
The Monitor is the simplest unit concept in
the default battleset. It is intended to be easy to mod
and a whole range of versions and variations are
expected. |
